Xmarc Service Manager 4.4: Release Notes

Installation

Installation of the Xmarc servlets is made simple by the inclusion in the release of an xmarc.war file. This may be found in the <INSTALL>/servlet/es/ folder/directory.
This .war file contains everything required to run the servlets, including the user guide, and is installed simply by "dropping" the .war file into the webapps (or similar) directory within the servlet engine file hierarchy.

The following is a list of all changes since Version 3:

Control Panel

The background has been set to pale gray.

The left-hand frame has been changed, with the removal of the Service Broker radio box. This is now redundant since there is now just one service broker (Broker).

2 new buttons Stop and Start have been added for advanced service re-installation without the necessity to stop all services, e.g. for service software updates.

In version 3.6, a new Monitoring Details button was added to the left-hand frame. Clicking this button displays a service usage and statistics table in the right-hand frame.

In version 4.0, a new Reset button has been added to the left-hand frame. Clicking this button displays a dialog to enable monitoring details to be reset. The old Reset button, which cleared input fields in the left-hand frame. has been renamed Clear.

Service Launching

The New Service page has been revamped with a re-ordering of existing fields and the addition of Launch Timeout field.

Agent Admin

A new button Show Debug Log has been added to inspect the debug log for a particular agent.

Service log output is now color-coded pale green. Agent debug log output is color-coded pink.

Since back-end services now require licenses, there is also a Show License Status button which displays the status from the currently-running license server (mxserver). Output is color-coded yellow. The license server is specified in the agent property file.

Service URLs

In order not to conflict with WMS/WFS service URL addressing, Xmarc services may now be addressed by the &xmservice URL parameter as an alternative to the $service URL parameter.
This addition was made in version 4.4
