During long operations without user interaction, it is sometimes useful to disable on-screen menus. For example, communication with an external process, or the execution of heavy calculations. This command disables all menus and sets the cursor to the busy cursor, thus giving an indication that a long operation is in session.
Menus, and the normal cursor, are re-enabled automatically by the next command requiring user interaction.
