The type number of the machine (workstation) on which the system is currently running. Each type of machine has its own number used for internal purposes. This is useful within macros, when machine dependent commands are required.
Values of machine_no are:
1 - IBM RS 6000.
2 - Hewlett-Packard workstation.
3 - Silicon Graphics Iris.
4 - Intel x86 workstation.
7 - DEC Alpha workstation.
9 - Sun 4/Sparc workstation.
This identifier is a constant and cannot be redefined.
