mxman is an interactive program with a few simple commands:
quit,
exit, end
Quit mxman.
status
{filename}
Print server
status to {filename}.
A message is sent to the server requesting its current status. If it is
running, the server will send to the terminal a summary of the current
server status, including a list of licensed products and current users.
The status listing may optionally be directed to a file by following the command with the output file name.
If the server is not reachable the message "No response from server" will be displayed.
stop
Stop the server. A message is sent to the
server requesting an orderly server exit.
In order for this command to have any effect, the effective user uid of mxman must be the same as the effective user uid of the license server mxserver.
The server may send a confirmation message to mxmans terminal.
check
Check installation setup. Makes connection to the server, verifying
the server host and server port numer and information about the client
machine.
debug
{on|off}
Server debug messages on or off.
A message is sent to the server requesting that it turns its internal "debug" switch on or off. When turned on, the server will output (possibly a large amount of) debugging information to its logging file (on its stderr).
In order for this command to have any effect, the effective user uid of mxman must be the same as the effective user uid of the license server mxserver.
update
Inform the server of license file updates.
If any licenses are added or removed from the license file while the server is running, it will need to be informed of the updates using this command.
This command has exactly the same effect as licman -u.
The server will rescan the license file adding any new product licenses to its internal product list. Any programs subsequently running unlicensed will be in violation and terminated. The server automatically rescans the license file at regular intervals.
